Master’s Degree Awarded to Researcher Altaf Saleh Al-Jubar in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Researcher Altaf Saleh Hassan Al-Jubar was awarded a Master’s Degree in Obstetrics and Gynecolog with an average of very good for her thesis titled: Outcomes and Factors Associated with Miscarriage at Al-Sabeen Hospital for Maternity and Childhood, which was submitted to the the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences – Sana’a University. The MA defense was held on Monday, August 10, 2026 .

The study aimed to investigate the outcomes and factors associated with miscarriage among women at Al-Sabeen Hospital for Maternity and Childhood.
The study identified several factors associated with spontaneous miscarriage, with cervical insufficiency emerging as the strongest predictor, along with a history of previous miscarriage, hyperprolactinemia, psychological disorders, and residence in rural areas.
The findings also showed that most maternal health outcomes were favorable, although some cases experienced serious complications.
The researcher recommended strengthening preconception counseling, improving early screening and assessment during pregnancy, identifying women at increased risk of miscarriage at an early stage, and improving access to emergency obstetric care services.
The thesis defense was attended by faculty members, researchers, students, and interested participants as well as the researcher’s colleagues and family members.
