Sana’a University Honors One of its Distinguished Physics Scholars

Today, Sana’a University honored Prof. Mohamed Qasim Abdullah Al-Mutawakel, professor of Theoretical and Applied Physics in the Department of Physics, in recognition of his five-decade-long career marked by significant contributions and excellence in the fields of science and innovation. The ceremony was held under the patronage of the University Rector, Prof. Al-Kasem Mohammed Abbas, who stated in his speech that the event is a tribute to the academic and scientific contributions made by Dr. Al-Mutawakel throughout his long career at Sana’a University. He also emphasized that this celebration reflects the university’s appreciation for all creative and dedicated academics who have contributed to improving the educational process in Yemen.
For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, Prof. Mohamed Qusaila, commended Dr. Al-Mutawakel’s profound contributions to science and research, underscoring his pioneering efforts in developing research methodologies both within Yemen and internationally. He highlighted that Dr. Al-Mutawakel continues to serve as a role model of creativity and dedication in science, noting his substantial contributions to the development of research that have influenced various scientific fields.
The ceremony was attended by several prominent academic figures, including Prof. Ibrahim Luqman, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Higher Education Affairs, and Prof. Mohammed Ali Shukri, Vice-Rector of Sana’a University for Student Affairs, along with a number of academics, university students, and journalists.
