Public MA Viva-Voice Examination of Mr. Esam Mohammed Abdulrahman Alkhalid

The Public Viva-Voice Examination for the MA Thesis hereto entitled: ” The Degree to which Principals of Public Education Schools in Sana’a Practice Servant Leadership and Its Relationship to the Level of Organizational Commitment Among Teachers’, submitted by Mr. Esam Mohammed Abdulrahman Alkhalid Department of Educational Planning and Administration, Faculty of Education –Sana’a, was held on Thursday, 30/07/1446 Hijri corresponding to 30/01/2025. The Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Post-Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

The study aimed at revealing the relationship of the practice of servant leadership by the principals of public education schools in Sana’a to the level of the organizational commitment among teachers in schools.
The study concluded a number of results as: the practice of servant leadership by public education school principals in Sana’a, the capital, was high from the point of view of teachers, with an arithmetic average of (3.91), and all the dimensions of leadership obtained a high practice score, as the (humility) dimension ranked first, followed by the (altruism) dimension. Then the dimension of (acting ethically), and the dimension of (empowerment) came in the fourth and last place. The results also showed that the level of organizational commitment among teachers in general education schools in the capital Sana’a was (high), and (the normative dimension) came in first place, followed by (the continuity dimension), and (the emotional dimension) came in the third and last place.
The study provided a number of recommendations as: 1- Developing the traditional leadership style into a servant leadership style. 2-The results of this research help the Ministry of Education to rehabilitate some school administrations in a way that is compatible with servant leadership being the most appropriate, most modern, and closest to the workers in order to enhance organizational commitment in these administrations. 3- This research benefits the Ministry of Education in identifying the prevailing leadership style in schools and knowing the level of organizational commitment. 4-The research results help school administrations change their traditional style or management style to a servant leadership style.
A number of academics, the department head, undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, Ibrahim Sharafaldeen, a number of educational leaders, some researchers, students, interested people, and a number of the candidates’ colleagues and family members attended the viva.
The MA thesis has been examined and is recommended by the Viva-Voce Committee for acceptance and approval. The Candidate was recommended to be awarded the degree of Master Degree majoring in Educational Planning and Administration with an overall grade of 95%.
