Master’s Degree for Researcher Huda Saleh from the Department of the Holy Quran, Faculty of Education

Researcher Huda Mohammed Saleh Mayas earned a Master’s degree with honors and a 95% grade from the Department of the Holy Quran and its Studies, majoring in Tafsir (Interpretation), from the Faculty of Education at Sana’a University. Her thesis was titled “Nafaes Al-Jawaher Al-Hissan Al-Bahiyya fi Bayan Asrar Ma’ani Al-Ayat Al-Qur’aniyya by Scholar/ Al-Hassan bin Ibrahim Al-Khatib, who passed away in 1265 AH”. The Viva took place on Saturday, 15 Ramadan 1446 AH, corresponding to March 15, 2025 AD.
The Viva and judgment committee consisted of:
* Professor Dr. Mohammed Abdo Mohammed Youssef, Main Supervisor and Committee Member.
* Professor Dr. Rif’at Hussein Aboura, Internal Examiner and Committee Chairman.
* Associate Professor Mohammed Shawqi Nasser, External Examiner and Committee Member.
The thesis aimed to:
* Introduce the author Al-Hassan bin Ibrahim Al-Khatib Al-Zubaidi, his era, and his book: “Nafaes Al-Jawaher Al-Hissan Al-Bahiyya fi Bayan Asrar Ma’ani Al-Ayat Al-Qur’aniyya.”
* Study the manuscript in terms of outlining the author’s methodology and key sources.
* Achieve verification of Surahs Ar-Ra’d and Ibrahim (Abraham, peace be upon him) and study them using a scientific methodology based on the verified rules and foundations known and followed in the scientific verification of manuscripts.
The thesis revealed a number of results, the most important of which were:
* Scholar Al-Khatib lived in the thirteenth century AH, which is considered one of the centuries most famous of Islamic studies, knowledge, ijtihad (independent reasoning & judging), and renewal.
* The book “Nafaes Al-Jawaher Al-Hissan” is considered one of the books of Tafsir (interpretation) of the Holy Quran.
* Al-Khatib contributed to enriching the Yemeni library with a number of books that varied in their nature, and this book is one of the most important ones, as it was verified from the beginning of Surah Al-Fatiha to the end of Surah An-Nas.
The researcher suggested a number of recommendations and suggestions in her thesis, including:
* The necessity of searching and investigating the manuscripts of the Yemeni Islamic heritage in libraries and verifying them.
* Activating communication and cooperation between Yemeni universities and Arab and Islamic universities specialized in publishing and teaching Yemeni heritage.
* The researcher recommends that the relevant scientific research bodies, publishing houses, and Sana’a University print this book, which in its entire form as one project, once it’s been verified, so that learners interested in more knowledge can benefit from it.
A number of academics, researchers, interested students, the researcher’s colleagues, and family members attended the discussion.
