Sana’a University Organizes Symposium on “September 21 Revolution: A Decade of Resilience”

The Political and Strategic Studies Center (PSSC) at Sana’a University held today an academic symposium entitled “September 21 Revolution: A Decade of Resilience in the Face of Challenges”, with the participation of academics, research scholars, faculty deans, and directors of research and scientific centers.
During the seminar, participants highlighted the need to encourage studies and research on the September 21 Revolution, underscoring its role in fostering public awareness, reinforcing independence, and advancing the values of national renaissance. They also emphasized nurturing resilience in future generations, strengthening national unity, and integrating developmental and economic priorities alongside academic and research endeavors.
In his address, University Rector Prof. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti noted that the revolution emerged in response to the Yemeni’s aspirations for freedom and independence, describing it as a turning point in Yemen’s modern history. He pointed out the progress achieved by the university, which has advanced by more than 3,300 places in global rankings, reaching 2,056th worldwide among 32,000 universities as of last July 2025.
During the seminar, attended by Deputy Minister of Media Dr. Omar Daer, Dr. Hussein Mutahar, Director of the PSSC, explained that the seminar coincides with celebrations of Yemen’s revolutionary anniversaries and aims to shed light on the objectives and achievements of the September 21 Revolution.
Moderated by Dr. Zaid Al-Wareeth, Rector’s Assistant for Scientific and Research Centers Affairs, the seminar featured three papers: Dr. Adel Ghanimah presented “The September 21 Revolution: Causes, Goals, and Achievements at the Political, Economic, Military, and Security Levels;” Dr. Mohammed Al-Aqel discussed “The Strategy of the September 21 Revolution: Independence and Dignity;” and Dr. Abdulaziz Abu Talib examined the Revolution’s role in restoring Yemen’s sovereignty and independent decision-making.
