Sana’a University Organizes the 3rd Forum on Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics

Sana’a – September 23, 2025 (Rabi’ Al-Thani 1, 1447 Hijri)
Under the patronage of His Excellency, the Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Ali Shaiban, and the Rector of Sana’a University, Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, the Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics at the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, organized its Third Scientific and Awareness Forum.
The event was held under the supervision of the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Khalid Al-Khamisi. He explained that the forum included specialized scientific seminars presented by the department’s students, who presented case study findings and discussed the latest therapeutic and nutritional approaches and recommendations for various diseases. He highlighted the importance of linking theoretical academic learning with practical application in preparing specialized medical professionals.
Prof. Al-Khamisi added that the program also included an awareness and practical component targeting students and staff of the medical faculties, during which free health services were provided, including:
– Blood pressure measurement
– Blood sugar level testing
– Weight and Body Mass Index (BMI) assessment
– Body fat percentage calculation
The Dean stressed that such activities aim to promote health and nutritional awareness within the university community, while highlighting the vital role of clinical nutrition specialists in improving public health. He reaffirmed the department’s commitment to training qualified medical professionals capable of contributing effectively to the development of Yemen’s healthcare system.
