Master’s Degree Awarded to Ms. Manal Al-Ashmouri in Radio and Television

Ms. Manal Abdullah Mohammed Al-Ashmouri was awarded a Master’s degree with an average of (Excellent) and a grade of (95%) for her thesis titled “The Role of Communication Media in Shaping the Public Perception of General Authority of Zakat in Yemen,” which was submitted to Department of Radio and Television, Faculty of Mass Communication – Sana’a University. The defense was held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, corresponding to Rabi’ al-Akhir 10, 1447 Hijri.
The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Post-Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

The thesis aimed to determine the role of communication media in shaping the public perception of General Authority of Zakat in Yemen.
The thesis reached the following main findings:
- The overall public perception of General Authority of Zakat was positive in Yemen.
- The public perception of General Authority of Zakat employees was primarily neutral, yet also associated with a degree of neglect.
The thesis concluded with several important recommendations, most notably:
- The General Authority of Zakat should prioritize engagement with social media platforms.
- The implementation of training courses for General Authority of Zakat staff on how to effectively deal with those paying Zakat and the beneficiaries of the authority’s services.
The thesis was examined and recommended by the Viva-Voce Committee for acceptance and approval. The defense was attended by a number of academics, researchers, students, and interested individuals, in addition to the candidate’s colleagues and family members.
