PhD Degree Awarded to Mr. Tawfiq Ahmed Saleh in Educational Administration and Planning

Mr. Tawfiq Ahmed Saleh Al-Makhdhi was awarded a PhD degree in Educational Administration and Planning for his dissertation titled: Evaluating Performance of Faculty of Fine Arts at Hodeidah University in Light of Academic Accreditation Standards and Labor Market Requirements, which was submitted to the Department of Educational Administration and Planning, Faculty of Education – Sana’a University. The dissertation defense was held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
The PhD Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

The dissertation primarily aimed to evaluate the performance of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Hodeidah University in accordance with academic accreditation standards and the requirements of the labor market, as perceived by the faculty’s staff members.
The study revealed that the overall performance level of the Faculty of Fine Arts was moderate in applying academic accreditation standards. However, it also identified critical weaknesses and deficiencies in implementing and practicing these standards, highlighting an urgent need for alignment with contemporary developments and challenges.
In light of these findings, the researcher recommended the following:
- Developing a strategic excellence plan, and implementing institutional accreditation standards in a phased and time-bound manner to achieve institutional excellence.
- Developing infrastructure and linking it to labor market needs, by improving the technical and artistic facilities and laboratories to support digital transformation and align art education with local and regional market demands.
- Establishing a self-evaluation unit within the quality management framework, and expanding the qualified teaching staff to enhance the overall quality of institutional performance.
The dissertation defense was attended by a number of academics, researchers, specialists, students, colleagues, and the researcher’s family.
