University of Science and Technology Rector Commends Sana’a University Students’ Innovations and Calls for Transforming Their Projects into Development-Oriented Applications

The Rector of the University of Science and Technology, Prof. Al-Kasem Mohammed Abbas, praised the outstanding scientific and innovative quality of the graduation projects showcased at Sana’a University’s First Exhibition of Research, Applied, and Productive Graduation Projects, emphasizing the importance of supporting talented graduates and enabling them to transform their innovative ideas into practical applications that serve society and contribute to national economic development.
His remarks came during a visit to the exhibition, organized by Sana’a University from Monday, July 27, to Saturday, August 1, 2026, which featured more than 100 research, applied, and productive projects developed by students from the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Computer and Information Technology, Faculty of Petroleum and Natural Resources, and Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment.
During his tour of the exhibition, Prof. Al-Kasem Abbas visited the various exhibition pavilions and met with participating students, who presented detailed explanations of their graduation projects. He discussed with them the scientific foundations, implementation methodologies, and potential for further development and commercialization, expressing his admiration for the high quality of the ideas, the spirit of innovation, and the students’ ability to develop practical scientific and technological solutions to a range of societal challenges.
Prof. Al-Kasem Abbas emphasized that universities serve as incubators for creativity and innovation and that their academic outputs should be directed toward addressing national development priorities and labor market needs through the promotion of applied scientific research, entrepreneurship, and effective partnerships with government institutions and the private sector. He noted that such collaboration is essential for transforming promising student innovations into productive projects with tangible economic and societal impact.
The Rector of the University of Science and Technology also commended Sana’a University for successfully organizing the exhibition and providing a platform that showcases student creativity while fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and healthy competition. He wished all participating students continued success and expressed his hope that their projects would receive the necessary support to progress toward implementation, ultimately benefiting both society and the nation.
