Faculty of Pharmacy at Sana’a University Celebrates the Prophet Mohammed’s Birthday and Honors Outstanding and Top-Performing Students

The Faculty of Pharmacy at Sana’a University today organized a commemorative event marking the Prophet Mohammed’s birthday (Mawlid). The program featured cultural presentations, devotional chants, and praise of the Prophet, along with the honoring of outstanding and top-performing male and female students in recognition of their academic achievements and dedication.
In his address, the University Rector emphasized that the Faculty of Pharmacy is one of the university’s important academic institutions, given its role in educating and training qualified pharmacists and strengthening their scientific and professional capabilities in ways that contribute to community service and the development of the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.
He noted that commemorating the Prophet Mohammed’s birthday provides an opportunity to draw inspiration from the values of knowledge, ethics, benevolence, and responsibility, emphasizing the importance of translating these values into students’ university lives and future professional practice.
The Rector further explained that educating and training pharmaceutical professionals extends beyond academic achievement to include the development of practical skills and the cultivation of professional responsibility, given the pharmacist’s vital role in medicines, their quality, safe use, and responsible handling.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti commended the efforts of the Faculty of Pharmacy leadership, faculty members, and students, stressing the importance of continuing to develop academic and training programs, support scientific research and practical training, and enhance the quality of the faculty’s educational outcomes to meet labor market needs and serve society.
The Vice-Rector of Amran University for Student Affairs, Prof. Zakaria Al-Shuaibi, highlighted the role of universities in developing individuals and preparing scientifically qualified professionals capable of contributing to development and community service. He noted that honoring outstanding students serves as an incentive for them to continue their academic efforts and pursue excellence.
The Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Mohammed Abbas Hamid Al-Din, welcomed the attendees and emphasized that commemorating the Prophet Mohammed’s birthday provides an opportunity to promote the values of knowledge, diligence, discipline, and benevolence. He highlighted the faculty’s commitment to providing a stimulating educational environment and continuously improving the quality of training and professional preparation.
He explained that the faculty’s mission is to prepare pharmacists equipped with scientific knowledge, professional skills, and ethical values, capable of handling medicines responsibly, contributing to patient and community care, and advancing pharmaceutical practice.
Prof. Hamid Al-Din also emphasized that recognizing outstanding students forms part of the faculty’s commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and motivation and encouraging students to pursue continued academic achievement, thereby preparing qualified pharmaceutical professionals capable of fulfilling their professional responsibilities.
The event was attended by a number of university and faculty leaders, faculty members, administrative and technical staff, and male and female students.
At the conclusion of the event, outstanding and top-performing students of the Faculty of Pharmacy were honored in recognition of their academic achievements and as an encouragement to continue their pursuit of scientific and professional excellence.
