Sana’a University Council of Graduate Studies Approves 43 New Research Titles and Endorses Results of 11 Theses and Dissertations

The Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council of Sana’a University held today its first meeting for the 1448 AH / 2026 academic year, chaired by Assoc. Prof. Hamoud Abdullah Al-Ahnoumi, Vice Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, to discuss a number of issues related to the development of graduate studies and scientific research and the enhancement of the quality of academic programs and outcomes.
The meeting commenced with the Council’s review and approval of the minutes of its previous session. The Council then discussed a number of agenda items concerning the development of graduate studies programs and the organization of research activities in accordance with the University’s applicable regulations and bylaws. The discussions also addressed a number of existing issues, including measures to facilitate students’ admission for graduate programs and decisions aimed at streamlining related procedures.
The Council referred several matters submitted for consideration to specialized committees for further study and consultation. It also approved the tuition fees for the MA Program at the Faculty of Medicine and Applied Sciences and endorsed the study plan for the MA Program in Anesthesiology at the Faculty of Medical and Applied Sciences.
In the area of graduate research, the Council approved the registration of 43 new research titles, comprising 17 PhD dissertation titles and 26 MA thesis titles across a variety of scientific, applied, and humanities disciplines. It also endorsed the examination and evaluation results of 11 PhD dissertations and MA theses, in accordance with the University’s approved academic regulations and standards.
The Council further approved several decisions concerning the results of various academic programs, including academic upgrading programs, diploma programs, and MA coursework programs. It also approved internal scholarships for teaching assistants and assistant lecturers to pursue their graduate studies, in addition to endorsing joint cooperation scholarships between Sana’a University and public universities.
Concluding the meeting, the Council reaffirmed its commitment to the continued advancement of the University’s graduate studies and scientific research system to enhance the quality of academic outcomes, improve research performance, and further strengthen Sana’a University’s role in serving society and contributing to scientific and knowledge-based development.
