Joint Committee between Sana’a University and the Ministry of Civil Service Commences Work to Update Records and Define Academic Needs

Today, the joint committee formed between Sana’a University and the Ministry of Civil Service began its activities at Sana’a University, following up on the outcomes of the recent meeting between Sana’a University Rector, Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, and the Minister of Civil Service, Prof. Khalid Al-Hawali. This initiative aims to update the data of academic and administrative staff and to complete all necessary documentation through the Civil Service E-portal.
During the meeting, the Rector reaffirmed the University’s commitment to cooperating with the Ministry in updating its personnel records. He noted that this effort aligns with the University’s broader mission to enhance transparency, accuracy, and efficiency in academic and administrative data management. Among attendees were Dr. Ibrahim Al-Muta’a, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs; Mr. Al-Ezzi Al-Hotami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Civil Service; and Mr. Adel Al-Hababi, Rector’s Assistant for Media Affairs.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti highlighted the growing financial obligations the University faces, particularly in relation to maintenance, laboratory upgrades, and the provision of essential teaching equipment and display systems for faculties and scientific centers. He stressed that securing academic posts for faculty members across various faculties has become a critical priority to sustain the continuity and quality of educational and research activities.
He further emphasized that this initiative reflects the University’s dedication to promoting education, knowledge, and scientific research, thereby strengthening its academic status and enabling it to produce qualified graduates capable of contributing to national and social development. He stressed that enabling academic staff to receive their rightful professional entitlements will directly enhance the quality of education and scientific research at Sana’a University and leave a positive, lasting impact on Yemen’s overall development trajectory.
Mr. Al-Ezzi Al-Hotami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Civil Service, stated that the Ministry had reviewed the documents submitted by the University. He underlined the importance of accurately identifying academic needs in alignment with teaching plans and faculty specializations. He also presented the Academic Needs Plan and Teaching Schedules, which include detailed information on courses, credit hours, levels, semesters, and an incorporated statistical model of the academic curriculum.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed that the committee will continue its work over the next ten days to complete data verification and documentation. This process is expected to ensure the accuracy of information and fulfill Civil Service requirements, thereby supporting the academic process and enhancing administrative performance at the University. Attendees also included Mr. Mohammed Khusrouf, General Director of Academic Affairs; Mr. Abdulmalik Al-Hamdani, General Director of Human Resources; Mr. Osama Al-Bukhaiti, Director of the Rector’s Office; and members of the committee responsible for implementing the data update.
