Sana’a University Honors Prof. Abdulwahab Abdu Raweh as Part of Its Monthly Program Celebrating Distinguished Academic Figures

As part of its institutional commitment to recognizing the achievements of its distinguished scholars and preserving a culture of academic appreciation, Sana’a University honored Prof. Abdulwahab Abdu Raweh, faculty member at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, in recognition of his distinguished academic career, outstanding contributions to the university and Yemen, and his enduring role in advancing scholarship, scientific research, and the education of generations of students and researchers.
The recognition took place during an official ceremony held as part of the University Council meeting, attended by the university’s Vice-Rectors, assistants, and deans of faculties. The event formed part of the university’s newly launched monthly recognition program, which celebrates distinguished academic figures who have played a significant role in strengthening Sana’a University’s academic standing and scientific leadership. Prof. Raweh was selected as the “Personality of the Month” by the Sana’a University Newspaper, the university’s monthly publication dedicated to documenting its news, achievements, and academic activities.
In his address, the University Rector, Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, affirmed that Sana’a University remains committed to honoring its distinguished scholars and academic pioneers whose contributions have shaped the university’s scientific and educational journey. He emphasized that recognizing individuals who have devoted their careers to advancing higher education reflects one of the university’s core institutional values and serves as an expression of appreciation for those who have contributed to strengthening its academic reputation.
The Rector described Prof. Abdulwahab Abdu Raweh as one of the university’s most distinguished academic figures, highlighting his long-standing contributions to the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Sana’a University, and Yemen through his excellence in teaching, scholarly research, academic writing, and postgraduate supervision. He also praised Prof. Raweh’s role in preparing generations of researchers and academics who continue to contribute to scientific advancement and community development.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti explained that the monthly recognition program aims to introduce younger generations of faculty members and students to the distinguished academics who have left a lasting legacy in the university’s history. He noted that the initiative also seeks to strengthen appreciation for the scholars whose dedication has helped establish Sana’a University as Yemen’s leading university, a center of academic excellence, and a beacon of knowledge and intellectual leadership since its establishment.
For his part, Prof. Abdulwahab Abdu Raweh expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude to the university leadership for the recognition, describing it as a deeply meaningful honor because it comes from the institution where he devoted many years to teaching, research, and serving its academic mission.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the University Rector presented the Sana’a University Commemorative Shield to Prof. Abdulwahab Abdu Raweh in recognition of his distinguished academic achievements and decades of dedicated service. He wished him continued good health, success, and many more years of contribution to science, the university, and the nation.
