Sana’a University Council Approves Unified Curricula and Ratifies Graduate Degree Results for 59 Master’s and Doctoral Candidates

The Council of Sana’a University approved the implementation of unified academic curricula (Study Plans) based on the framework issued by the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, marking a significant step toward harmonizing academic programs, modernizing curricula, and further enhancing the quality of higher education across the university.
The decision was made during the Council’s second regular meeting, chaired by the University Rector, Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, who presented his monthly report highlighting the university’s most significant academic, research, and institutional activities over the past month.
During his briefing, the Rector updated the Council on the latest developments concerning the international evaluation process for obtaining World Federation for Medical Education accreditation for the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. He expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Telecommunications for its support during the evaluation process by providing modern audiovisual equipment that enabled evaluators to gain a comprehensive view of the faculty’s educational facilities, including laboratories, teaching laboratories, lecture halls, and other academic infrastructure.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti also commended the dedicated efforts of the university team responsible for the WFME accreditation project over the past several years, paying special tribute to the former University Rector, Prof. Al-Kasem Mohammed Abbas, and the members of the accreditation team for their sustained commitment to achieving international accreditation.
The Council was also briefed on the successful launch of the university’s First Exhibition of Research, Applied, and Productive Graduation Projects, which featured outstanding student projects from the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Computer and Information Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment, and Faculty of Petroleum and Natural Resources. The exhibition attracted strong participation from students, academics, professionals, and public officials and reflects the university’s commitment to aligning graduation projects with labor market needs while promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and productivity.
The meeting, attended by the university’s Vice-Rectors, assistants, and deans of faculties, approved the establishment of a committee responsible for selecting the “Personality of the Month” for the Sana’a University Newspaper. The selected individual will be honored during the monthly meeting of the University Council in recognition of outstanding contributions to the university.
The Council also approved the appointment of a number of faculty members and teaching assistants on an hourly-contract basis and authorized scientific publication awards for eight faculty members and teaching assistants in recognition of their scholarly research and to further encourage academic publishing.
In matters relating to graduate studies, the Council ratified the results of 59 Master’s and PhD candidates from various faculties and scientific and research centers. It also approved the diploma results of ten students from the Faculty of Sharia and Law, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Languages, Faculty of Education (Sana’a), and Faculty of Mass Communication.
Moreover, the Council endorsed the graduation lists submitted by the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Faculty of Mass Communication, Faculty of Education–Arhab, and Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Members also reviewed a number of issues related to academic affairs, student affairs, graduate studies, and the university’s scientific centers, adopting the appropriate resolutions on each matter.
At the beginning of the session, the Council reviewed and approved the minutes of its previous meeting before proceeding with the agenda.
