Sana’a University Concludes Mawlid Commemorative Program with Central Ceremony Attended by Acting Prime Minister

Sana’a University today concluded its cultural program commemorating the Prophet Mohammed’s Birthday (Mawlid) for the year 1448 AH with a central closing ceremony. The event followed the organization of 18 activities across various University faculties over a two-week period and was attended by Mohammed Meftah, Acting Prime Minister, Dr. Ali Shaiban, Minister of Health and Environment, Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, Rector of Sana’a University, Abdulsalam Al-Mutamayiz, the University Rector’s Cultural Adviser, along with Vice Rectors and Rector’s Assistants, deans, center directors, and a large number of academics, administrative staff, and students.
In his address, Mohammed Meftah emphasized the importance of drawing on the Prophet’s values to promote knowledge, learning, and community service. He highlighted the pivotal role of academics, scholars, and students in advancing scientific development and building a knowledge-based society.
Meftah noted that Sana’a University, with its academic and administrative personnel and student body, represents an important center of knowledge, calling on its members to continue pursuing academic excellence, conducting research, engaging with the community, and strengthening cooperation to advance education and serve society. He also stressed the importance of promoting values of work, education, diligence, and community service, noting that investment in knowledge and scientific research is fundamental to building the future and strengthening society’s ability to address challenges.
In turn, Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, Rector of Sana’a University, stated that the central ceremony marked the culmination of an extensive program implemented across the University’s faculties over the preceding two weeks, comprising 18 cultural events involving faculty members, administrative staff, and students.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti emphasized the University’s commitment to using cultural occasions to promote positive values among students and to strengthen the connection between education and social and ethical responsibility, while continuing to advance its mission in education, scientific research, and community service.
He further reaffirmed the University’s reliance on its academic staff and students to advance knowledge and strengthen its presence in educational, research, and community fields, thereby contributing to human development and the advancement of society.
Then, Nour Al-Din Al-Zalab, Deputy Secretary-General of the University Student Forum (USF), highlighted the importance of student participation in university and community activities, emphasizing its role in developing students’ skills, initiative, and spirit of teamwork.
The ceremony also featured a poetry contribution by Abdulsalam Al-Mutamayiz, Cultural Adviser to the University Rector, as well as an artistic operetta expressing themes of devotion to the Prophet Mohammed and the ethical and humanitarian values inspired by his life.
