The Faculty of Sharia and Law at Sana’a University held today a commemorative event marking the anniversary of the Prophet Mohammed’s birth (al-Mawlid al-Nabawi al-Sharif), organized in collaboration with the University Student Forum (USF). The event also honored top-performing students and welcomed newly admitted students for the new academic year, reflecting the Faculty’s commitment to academic excellence and student support, encouraging them to pursue further achievement and academic success.
In his address, Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, Sana’a University Rector, emphasized the importance of drawing inspiration from the moral and educational values embodied in the Prophet’s life and teachings, upholding noble ethics, and linking knowledge with responsibility and community service. He also commended the Faculty of Sharia and Law for its efforts to educate students and strengthen their academic knowledge and capabilities.
The University Rector noted that recognizing outstanding students provides an important incentive for academic achievement and encourages healthy competition among students. He reaffirmed the University’s commitment to supporting academic excellence and providing a stimulating educational environment that promotes creativity, develops students’ capabilities, and contributes to the continuous improvement of the educational process.
Dr. Abdul Khaleq Muazib, Vice Dean of the Faculty, welcomed the attendees and newly admitted students, reaffirming the Faculty’s commitment to promoting academic excellence and supporting student achievement. He encouraged students to make the most of their university experience by broadening their knowledge, developing their skills, and preparing themselves to contribute effectively to society.
The event was attended by Mr. Abdulsalam Al-Mutamayiz, the Rector’s Cultural Advisor; Prof. Mohammed Saad Nejad, Dean of the Faculty of Sharia and Law; the Faculty’s Vice Deans and General Secretary, faculty members, administrative staff, and several male and female students.
Several addresses delivered during the event highlighted the significance of the occasion and its spiritual and educational values. Speakers emphasized the noble values embodied in the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, including compassion, humility, justice, patience, respectful conduct, and the pursuit and sharing of knowledge. They encouraged students to embrace these values throughout their academic and professional lives and reflect them in their daily conduct in ways that strengthen character and promote positive contributions to society.
The event also featured a range of activities marking the occasion, along with a ceremony honoring top-performing students in recognition of their efforts and academic achievements. The recognition was also intended to encourage their fellow students to pursue continued excellence and academic success.
The Faculty also welcomed newly admitted students, wishing them a successful academic year and reaffirming its commitment to providing continued support and fostering an academic environment that promotes the development of their knowledge, skills, and practical capabilities.
