# Committee Members Designation Position

3 Assist. Prof. Mohammed Abdullah Saleh Naji Internal Examiner Member
The thesis aimed to:
Introduce the scholar Ahmad bin Mohammed Al-Khalidi and his book Bughyat Al-Talib wa Munyat Al-Raghib ‘ala Muqaddimat Ibn Al-Hajib.
Examine the foundations of Arabic grammar in the Arabic linguistic heritage and in Al-Khalidi’s work.
Clarify Al-Khalidi’s grammatical views and preferences through his book.
The study yielded several key findings summarized as follows:
Al-Khalidi’s distinguished scholarly status and the significance of his book among the commentaries on Al-Kafiyah.
Al-Khalidi primarily relied on transmitted linguistic evidence (sama‘) as the main grammatical foundation in his work, alongside analogy (qiyas) and scholarly consensus (ijma‘).
Al-Khalidi adhered to the principles, features, and terminology of the Basran school of grammar throughout most of his commentary on Al-Kafiyah.
In light of these findings, the researcher recommended the following:
Calling upon the Yemeni state and government, represented by Awqaf Ministry, to collect manuscript copies of Bughyat Al-Talib wa Munyat Al-Raghib from private and public libraries, obtain copies of manuscripts located outside Yemen, republish them in clear editions, and distribute them to public libraries.
Encouraging postgraduate bodies in Arabic language departments at Yemeni universities to direct researchers toward studying Yemeni grammarians and their specialized grammatical works, and to avoid neglecting or marginalizing them..
The defense session was attended by a number of academics, researchers, students, colleagues, and the researcher’s family.
