Master’s Degree Awarded to Mr. Sadiq Ahmed Al-Rasha in Political Science

Mr. Sadiq Ahmed Jaber Al-Rasha was awarded a Master’s Degree in Political Science with an average of excellent and a grade of (94%) for his thesis titled: The Role of Yemeni Tribe in Confronting External Aggression against Yemen (2015–2022), which was submitted to the Faculty of Commerce and Economics– Sana’a University. The MA defense was held on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

The thesis aimed to:
Examine the pivotal role of Yemeni tribes in confronting external aggression against Yemen during the period 2015–2022.
Investigate the tribes’ contributions to supporting and reinforcing frontline efforts.
Analyze the mechanisms through which tribes participated in the defense of Yemen and sustained their resilience throughout the conflict.
Explore the impact of these developments on the future of Yemeni tribal structures, as well as the challenges and difficulties they face.
Provide a deeper understanding of the role played by Yemeni tribes as an integral component of Yemen’s social fabric and national identity during one of the most significant challenges confronting the country.
The study yielded several key findings summarized as follows:
Yemeni tribes constituted a fundamental pillar of national resilience in confronting external aggression.
Strengthening the role of tribes within the framework of a unified Yemeni identity contributes significantly to safeguarding the country from external interference.
In light of these findings, the researcher recommended the following:
Conducting further in-depth research on the role of Yemeni tribes during periods of conflict and national crises.
Providing the necessary support to enable tribes to continue contributing to the protection of the nation.
Strengthening cooperation and partnership between tribal institutions and the state through the promotion of a shared national and cultural identity.
Protecting the tribal system from external influences and interventions that may undermine its role in maintaining social stability and national unity.
The defense session was attended by a number of academics, researchers, students, colleagues, and the researcher’s family.
