The first regular meeting of the 1448 AH academic year for administrators of websites and social media platforms across Sana’a University’s faculties and research centers was held today, chaired by Mr. Adel Al-Hababi, Rector’s Assistant for Media Affairs. The meeting reviewed the university’s media action plan for the upcoming academic year and discussed mechanisms for strengthening media coverage of student admission, registration, and enrollment processes for undergraduate and graduate programs.
During the meeting, Al-Hababi emphasized the importance of enhancing media performance in line with the university’s growing academic and scientific activities. He stressed the need to improve responsiveness and engagement with students and prospective applicants through the continuous and accurate dissemination of information related to admissions and registration, thereby facilitating access to essential information and services.
He also underscored the importance of maintaining professionalism and timeliness in reporting university news and events, while highlighting the achievements and activities of the university’s faculties and centers in a manner that reflects Sana’a University’s academic, research, and community-service mission.
The Rector’s Assistant for Media Affairs commended the efforts made by media teams across the faculties and centers during the previous academic year, particularly their role in managing direct communication with students and responding to inquiries regarding admissions and registration through the university’s official platforms and social media channels. These efforts, he noted, contributed significantly to strengthening communication between the university, its students, and prospective applicants.
The meeting also reviewed the university’s annual media report, recently submitted to the university leadership, which revealed positive indicators reflecting the expansion of Sana’a University’s media activities during the past academic year. According to the report, approximately 7,000 media materials—including news stories, reports, announcements, and special coverage—were published. More than 2,000 news items were translated into English as part of efforts to strengthen the university’s media presence at both the local and international levels.
The report further highlighted significant growth in digital engagement. The number of followers of the university’s official social media page exceeded 107,000, representing an increase of approximately 40,000 followers compared to the previous year. Faculty and center platforms also recorded substantial growth in audience reach, follower numbers, and engagement rates.
Participants in the meeting emphasized the importance of building on these achievements during the new academic year and coordinating media efforts to further promote the university’s activities, academic programs, research initiatives, and services provided to students and the wider community.
