Sana’a University Council Approves Academic Decisions and Ratifies Graduate Studies Results for 24 Researchers

The Sana’a University Council held its twelfth regular meeting for the 1447 AH / 2025–2026 academic year, chaired by the University Rector, Prof. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, and attended by the university vice rectors, the rector’s assistants, and faculty deans. The Council discussed a number of academic and administrative issues related to the progress of educational and research activities at the university and issued several decisions and recommendations accordingly.
At the beginning of the meeting, the University Rector congratulated Council members on the occasion of the 36th anniversary of Yemeni Unity and the upcoming Eid al-Adha occasion. He noted that the university marked the Yemeni unity anniversary by planting 2,400 coffee trees as part of its efforts to expand green spaces and encourage the cultivation of Yemeni coffee as a national symbol reflecting Yemeni identity.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti also praised the successful completion of the 1447 AH academic year and called for welcoming the new academic year with a spirit of positivity and academic responsibility aimed at enhancing institutional performance and development across the university. During the meeting, he reviewed the approved graduation lists submitted by various faculties for the previous academic year.
The Council approved the accreditation of scientific papers presented at conferences organized by Sana’a University and published in journals indexed in the Scopus or Clarivate databases as alternative research publications to fulfill the local publication requirements for obtaining a master’s degree.
The Council also approved graduation lists issued by a number of faculties, including the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Education and Humanities–Khawlan, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Petroleum and Natural Resources, Faculty of Physical Education, Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment, Faculty of Commerce and Economics, as well as the Computer Center.
In addition, the Council approved the tenure, academic status adjustment, and promotion of 19 faculty members, alongside the appointment of three teaching staff members on an hourly contract basis in the Faculty of Sharia and Law, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, and Faculty of Dentistry.
Within the framework of graduate studies programs, the Council approved the study plans for the master’s preliminary coursework program in Biodiversity and Environmental Studies at the Genetic Resources Center. It also ratified the results of 29 researchers enrolled in master’s and doctoral programs across several faculties and research centers, in addition to approving the results of 15 students in the grade improvement diploma and non-specialists diploma programs.
The Council further discussed a number of issues related to academic affairs, student affairs, and scientific centers, taking the appropriate decisions regarding each matter. At the start of the session, the Council had also reviewed and approved the minutes of its previous meeting.
