Sana’a University Graduate Studies Council Approves Academic Measures to Advance Programs and Strengthen Scientific Research

The Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council at Sana’a University held its eleventh regular meeting as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to develop the graduate studies system, enhance the quality of scientific research, and strengthen the efficiency of academic programs.
The meeting was chaired by the Vice Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Hamoud Abdullah Al-Ahnoumi, in the presence of the Assistant Vice Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Fares Al-Qadri, along with vice deans of faculties and representatives of research centers.
The Council began its session by reviewing and approving the minutes of the previous meeting before discussing a number of agenda items related to the development of academic programs, the regulation of research activities, and decisions concerning graduate studies.
As part of efforts to advance academic programs, the Council approved the study plan for the Master’s Program in Biodiversity and Environmental Studies at the Genetic Resources Center. It also approved the extension and completion of scholarships for a number of master’s and doctoral students in accordance with the regulations governing graduate studies.
In the field of scientific research, the Council approved the registration of 15 doctoral dissertation titles and 31 master’s thesis titles. It also ratified the final defense results of nine doctoral dissertations and 17 master’s theses, in addition to approving amendments to the titles of several research projects.
The Council’s decisions further included the approval of results for several academic programs, including grade improvement programs, PG diploma programs, and master’s preliminary coursework programs. In addition, internal scholarships were approved for teaching assistants and assistant lecturers to continue their postgraduate studies, alongside joint cooperation scholarships between Sana’a University and other public universities in Yemen.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Council reaffirmed its commitment to further developing the graduate studies and scientific research system in ways that enhance the quality of academic outcomes, improve research performance, strengthen the university’s role in serving society, and contribute to scientific and knowledge-based development.
