Sana’a University Rector Receives the Capital Secretariat Mayor and Officials, Briefs Them on Development Projects and Agricultural Activities

Prof. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, Rector of Sana’a University, received today the Mayor of the Capital Secretariat (Sana’a), Dr. Hamoud Obad, accompanied by the Capital Secretariat Undersecretaries, Mr. Mazen Noaman and Dr. Qannaf Al-Marrani, as well as Assistant Undersecretary Mr. Naji Al-Qawsi, during a visit aimed at reviewing a number of development projects and agricultural activities being implemented by the university.
During the visit, the University Rector accompanied the Mayor and the Secretariat officials on a field tour covering several university facilities, where they reviewed afforestation activities, land reclamation efforts within the university campus, and the initiatives aimed at expanding green spaces and cultivating fruit trees and agricultural crops through self-financing by the university.
The visitors also listened to a briefing from the University Rector on the agricultural projects implemented by the university, which included planting more than 2,200 seedlings of various fruit trees and crops, in addition to expanding newly prepared areas for planting more than 2,500 coffee seedlings. These efforts contribute to strengthening the practical training component for students of the Faculty of Agriculture and achieving sustainable development goals.
The tour also included a review of the rehabilitation and development works underway at the Faculty of Engineering, as well as the level of modern equipment in classrooms and laboratories, within the framework of the university’s efforts to develop its educational and academic infrastructure in line with the requirements of the local and regional labor market.
The Mayor of the Capital Secretariat praised the developments and achievements taking place at Sana’a University across various fields, commending the university leadership’s commitment to implementing agricultural and beautification activities and providing a suitable educational environment for students.
Dr. Hamoud Obad affirmed the Capital Secretariat’s commitment to strengthening cooperation and partnership with the university and supporting its agricultural and developmental activities in a way that enhances agricultural awareness and contributes to achieving sustainable development and self-sufficiency.
