Sana’a University Rector Meets Minister of Civil Service to Discuss Academic Staffing Requirements

The Rector of Sana’a University, Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, conducted an official visit to the Ministry of Civil Service and Administrative Development today to meet with the Minister, Prof. Khalid Hussein Al-Hawali. The high-level meeting focused on reviewing the university’s comprehensive plan for academic staffing requirements and explored avenues to strengthen institutional cooperation between the two institutions.
During the meeting, which included Ministry Undersecretaries for Public Service and Training, Ali Qasim Al-Kebsi and Al-Ezzi Al-Hattami, as well as the University’s Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Ibrahim Al-Mutaa, officials reviewed the current status of the university’s academic cadre. The discussions specifically addressed the challenges posed by current staffing gaps, with a particular emphasis on the needs of newly established faculties and departments.
The participants highlighted the necessity of collaborative efforts to fulfill the university’s actual personnel needs to keep pace with the ongoing expansion of academic programs and specializations. Such support is considered vital for maintaining the stability of the educational process and upholding the university’s quality standards.
Minister Al-Hawali affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to providing ongoing technical support to Sana’a University. He stated that the Ministry is prepared to work diligently to meet the university’s academic staffing needs in accordance with approved recruitment plans and established legal and administrative frameworks.
In response, Prof. Al-Bukhaiti expressed his gratitude for the Ministry’s proactive role in supporting the university’s mission. He praised the Ministry’s efforts to improve the professional standing of the academic staff and reiterated the university’s dedication to maintaining close coordination with the Ministry to ensure administrative and academic excellence.
The meeting was further attended by several senior university officials, including Prof. Adel Al-Matari, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Petroleum and Natural Resources; Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sabri, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology; Dr. Sami Al-Maqtari, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; and Mr. Abdulmalik Al-Hamdani, the University’s General Director of Human Resources.
