Sana’a University has issued the 51st edition of its monthly newspaper, featuring a wide range of news and reports that reflect the University’s accelerating academic and scientific activities, as well as its ongoing efforts to develop the educational process and enhance its local and international presence.
The 12-page issue highlights major institutional achievements, most notably Sana’a University’s ranking as the top Yemeni university in the SCImago World University Rankings 2026, reaffirming its academic and research leadership.
The edition also sheds light on several strategic developments, including the launch of the unified electronic application and admission system for the 1448 AH academic year. This initiative represents a significant step in the University’s digital transformation efforts, simplifying admission procedures and ensuring equal opportunities for students across all governorates.
In addition, the newspaper covers various activities and field visits conducted by the University leadership, including monitoring operations at the Sana’a University Press, reviewing maintenance and service conditions in several faculties, and inspecting laboratories and workshops at the Faculty of Agriculture. These efforts reflect the University’s commitment to strengthening applied learning and improving the educational environment.
On the academic side, the issue reviews the outcomes of University Council and academic board meetings, which resulted in key decisions aimed at developing academic programs, introducing new curricula, enhancing research activities, and adopting policies that support publication in reputable international journals.
The edition also includes a special feature on admission and placement standards for the 2026–2027 academic year, examination schedules for competitive selection tests, and the announcement of bridging program admissions. These measures aim to expand access to higher education and accommodate graduates of technical education institutions.
Furthermore, the issue highlights the University’s infrastructure development efforts, particularly the asphalt paving project for the main internal road of the campus, with a cost exceeding 103 million YER, as part of a broader strategy to improve the campus environment and enhance traffic safety.
The release of this issue reflects Sana’a University Newspaper’s continued role as an institutional media platform documenting the University’s achievements, covering its academic and scientific activities, and strengthening communication with society, thereby reinforcing the University’s position as a leading academic institution in Yemen and the region.
