Sana’a – Sunday, October 19, 2025 (Rabi’ Al-Thani 27, 1447 Hijri)
Sana’a University today inaugurated a series of intellectual and cultural seminars under the theme “Academics Toward Al-Quds” with a symposium titled “The Zionist Background of Trump’s Plan: Strategic Dimensions, Future Prospects, and Confrontation Options.”
The event was organized by the Faculty of Commerce and Economics in collaboration with the Political and Strategic Studies Center (PSSC) at the university.
In his remarks, Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, Rector of Sana’a University, affirmed that organizing this series of events comes as part of the university’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause and standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people. He emphasized the importance of promoting academic awareness about the political and intellectual dimensions of the Arab-Israeli conflict, stressing that the university will continue to play its role in raising awareness and equipping generations with knowledge and objective scientific analysis.
Mr. Abdul Salam Al-Mutamayez, the Rector’s Advisor for Cultural Affairs, stated that Sana’a University has always been—and will continue to be—a national academic platform that upholds the voice of truth and putting the Palestinian cause at the forefront of its academic and cultural focus, through organizing seminars and intellectual workshops that affirm Palestine’s position as the central cause of the Arab nation.
The symposium featured four scholarly papers presented by a group of distinguished academics, addressing various aspects of Trump’s plan, its political and religious implications, as well as the Palestinian options for resistance.
The papers were presented by:
Prof. Zaid Al-Wareeth, the Rector’s Assistant for Centers’ Affairs.
Dr. Hussein Mutahar, Director of the PSSC.
Dr. Hani Al-Mughallis, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Economics.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Raidi, Professor of Political Science.
The papers discussed U.S. policies toward the Palestinian issue, the dimensions of Trump’s plan, the challenges linked to normalization efforts, and the Palestinian strategies for confronting schemes aimed at undermining their national cause.
The seminar was attended by Mr. Ali Al-Dailami, Member of the Political Bureau of Ansar Allah, along with several faculty deans, faculty members, and research scholars. The discussions emphasized that Trump’s plan represents an extension of the Zionist project and a denial of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
The event concluded with a set of recommendations affirming support for the steadfastness and legitimate resistance of the Palestinian people, the necessity of enabling them to exercise their right to self-determination and choose their national leadership, and the call to alleviate the humanitarian suffering in Gaza and ensure the unrestricted entry of humanitarian aid.
At the conclusion of the event, Sana’a University reaffirmed its academic and humanitarian mission to strengthen awareness and support just causes of the Arab and Islamic nations from its position as a national and scholarly institution.
