Sana’a University Academic Council Approves New Appointments and Measures to Enhance Educational Quality

Sana’a University Academic Council convened its tenth regular meeting of the 2025/2026 academic year. The session was presided over by Prof. Ibrahim Ahmed Al-Mutaa, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Chairman of the Council, with the participation of council members representing the university’s various faculties. The meeting commenced with a formal review and approval of the previous session’s minutes before transitioning into a comprehensive discussion on the academic and organizational issues currently shaping the university’s educational trajectory.
In a significant move to bolster institutional stability and elevate the caliber of the university’s teaching staff, the Council ratified a series of academic personnel decisions. These included the approval of three academic promotions and six academic status adjustments. Furthermore, the Council confirmed the tenure of eight faculty members, a step aimed at ensuring preparing highly qualified academic staff and a conducive learning environment.
Beyond administrative updates, the Council engaged in an in-depth dialogue regarding the advancement of the university’s research and teaching methodologies. Members deliberated on various strategies to refine academic performance and enhance the quality of educational outcomes. The resulting resolutions are designed to align the university’s outputs with modern standards of excellence, ensuring that graduates are well-equipped to meet evolving professional demands.
The meeting was attended by the members of the Supreme Committee for Scientific Research, as well as Dr. Hani Mughalles, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Economics.
