Sana’a University Rector Explores Cooperation Prospects with Yemen Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control Organization

The Rector of Sana’a University, Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, met today at the University’s headquarters with Mr. Abdullah Nasser Al-Atifi, Director General of the Yemen Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control Organization (YSMO), along with his accompanying technical delegation. The meeting comes within the framework of strengthening institutional partnerships and expanding areas of scientific and technical cooperation between the two sides.
Discussions focused on enhancing collaboration across several key sectors, with an emphasis on leveraging the University’s academic and research capabilities to support the Authority’s work, while reinforcing the role of scientific research in advancing development goals and improving the quality of products and services.
Following the meeting, a joint session was held bringing together Prof. Zaid Ali Al-Warith, Rector’s Assistant for Scientific and Research Centers, and the Director General of the Authority, in the presence of the accompanying technical team and several University officials. The session addressed mechanisms for developing partnership frameworks and strengthening integration between the Authority, the University’s faculties, and its research centers. It also explored ways to utilize the University’s laboratories and facilities in conducting technical tests and studies relevant to the Authority’s functions.
The discussions further highlighted the importance of directing scientific research within faculties and research centers toward addressing societal challenges, thereby enhancing the University’s role as an active contributor to community service and sustainable development.
The meeting and session were attended by several academic leaders, including Prof. Adel Rawaa, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Dr. Fouad Al-Mohattwari, Director of the Science and Technology Center; Dr. Ibrahim Al-Ameri, Director of the Engineering Consultancy Center; Dr. Mohammed Al-Muzaiqer, Director of the Renewable Energy Center; Dr. Fadl Al-Mahmoudi, Director of the Center for Public Administration; and Dr. Hisham Al-Jabali, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, in addition to a number of specialists from both sides.
In a related development, the Assistant Rector for Scientific and Research Centers accompanied the Director General of the Authority on a field visit to several University facilities. The tour included the Central Laboratories Center, where they were received by its Director, Dr. Mansour Al-Dhubhani, who provided an overview of the available technical capabilities and laboratory equipment, as well as their potential applications in supporting testing and calibration services.
The delegation also visited laboratories at the Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Engineering, as well as the Engineering Consultancy Center, where they reviewed infrastructure and applied facilities, and discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in engineering, agricultural, and technological fields.
At the conclusion of the visit, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening joint efforts and building a strategic partnership based on the integration of academic and applied expertise, in a manner that contributes to enhancing quality standards and meeting national development requirements.
