Sana’a University Rector Honors Prominent Academics at Medical Faculty’s Graduate Research Conference

Prof. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, Rector of Sana’a University, honored a distinguished group of academics from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences today. The honoring ceremony was held as part of the ongoing proceedings of the 37th Graduate Research Conference, which is currently reviewing the graduation research projects of the faculty’s senior students.
Accompanied by Prof. Mohammed Al-Shahari, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, the Rector presented commemorative shields to the honorees in recognition of their outstanding academic dedication, scientific contributions, and profound impact on elevating the educational and research frameworks within the faculty.
The distinguished honorees included Prof. Adel Al-Matari, Chairman of the Council for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance (CAQA); Prof. Saleh Bahaj, National Expert and Professor of Medical Microbiology and Immunology; and Prof. Ahmed Al-Motarreb, Head of the Cardiology Department at the Faculty of Medicine.
The ceremony was attended by the faculty’s vice deans representing Clinical Affairs and Hospitals, Academic Affairs and Graduate Studies, Student Affairs, and Quality Assurance, alongside an assembly of faculty members and researchers.
During the event, the University Rector emphasized that this recognition serves as an expression of gratitude for the honorees’ relentless scholarly efforts in serving medical education and scientific research. He highly commended their role in upgrading the caliber of the faculty’s graduates and consolidating its institutional standing.
This ceremony is one of the signature events accompanying the 37th Graduate Research Conference, which runs from June 13th to June 18th, 2026. The six-day conference features rigorous discussions of scientific, field-based, and clinical graduation research papers completed by the 37th batch of medical students, reflecting the university’s strategic commitment to fostering scientific research, academic excellence, and innovation among its student body.
