Sana’a University Launches 1st Exhibition of Research, Applied, and Productive Graduation Projects Featuring More Than 103 Innovative Student Projects

In a significant step toward promoting innovation, applied research, and entrepreneurship, Sana’a University inaugurated its First Exhibition of Research, Applied, and Productive Graduation Projects, showcasing more than 103 innovative student projects from several of the university’s faculties.
The exhibition was officially inaugurated by the Acting Prime Minister, Mohammed Muftah, in the presence of the Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Hasan Al-Saadi, and the Minister of Health and Environment, Prof. Ali Shaiban. The guests were received by the University Rector, Prof. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, together with the university’s Vice-Rectors, assistants, and a number of university leaders.
Following the opening ceremony, the Acting Prime Minister and accompanying officials—including the Acting Minister of Economy, Sam Al-Bashiri, and the Acting Minister of Agriculture, Ammar Al-Karim, as well as the Deputy Minister of Information, Prof. Omar Al-Bukhaiti, and the Deputy Minister of Electricity, Energy and Water, Adel Bader—toured the exhibition’s pavilions.
The exhibition features over 103 research, applied, and productive graduation projects developed by students from the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology, the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Petroleum and Natural Resources, and the Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment.
During the tour, visitors met with students and researchers, who presented their projects and explained how their innovations address real-world challenges while strengthening the connection between higher education outcomes, labor market needs, and sustainable development. The projects demonstrated a wide range of scientific and technological solutions designed to support productive and service sectors through innovative and practical applications.
Students also outlined the objectives, implementation methodologies, and technological applications of their projects, highlighting their potential to solve pressing societal challenges, strengthen the link between scientific research and community needs, and promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and the transformation of academic knowledge into practical solutions with tangible developmental impact.
The Acting Prime Minister commended the high academic standard of the projects on display, noting that transforming graduation projects into practical, implementable models represents an important step toward building a knowledge-based economy. He called for stronger partnerships between Sana’a University, government institutions, and the private sector to support, develop, and invest in these promising innovations for the benefit of national development.
The Minister of Education and Scientific Research also praised the exhibition for presenting outstanding and creative projects, emphasizing the importance of directing university research toward practical, market-oriented solutions capable of contributing to economic and social development while enhancing the quality of higher education outcomes.
For his part, the University Rector, Prof. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, affirmed that Sana’a University is committed to directing graduation projects toward addressing real challenges across various sectors by promoting applied scientific research, encouraging innovation, and establishing partnerships with public and private institutions to incubate promising projects and transform them into products and technologies that serve society and the national economy.
He further noted that the university continues to strengthen its research and innovation ecosystem and improve the quality of its academic outputs in alignment with sustainable development goals. These efforts, he explained, contribute to enhancing the university’s standing in international rankings through support for high-impact applied research, knowledge production, and innovation.
The exhibition showcases a diverse portfolio of projects spanning artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), engineering, medical sciences, unmanned aerial systems (drones), robotics, intelligent systems, sensing and detection technologies, geology, simulation, data analytics, and software applications, reflecting the breadth of academic disciplines and the richness of the university’s research environment.
The three-day exhibition aims to introduce government agencies, private-sector organizations, investors, and funding institutions to the university’s distinguished research and applied projects, encourage investment in university innovations, and strengthen collaboration between the university and development partners to maximize the societal and economic impact of scientific research.
