Mission
The Department of French Language and Literature is dedicated to preparing highly skilled professionals in French language, translation, and teaching. It seeks to meet the demands of the labor market and contribute positively to the needs of our community.
Vision
Our vision is to remain at the forefront of modern and contemporary advancements in French language, literature, and comparative literature. We aim to facilitate communication between the East and the West while fostering and strengthening the distinguished relations between Yemen and France in terms of language and culture.
Department Aims:
- Equipping students with a thorough knowledge of French language, literature, culture, and linguistics.
- Developing students’ linguistic and communication skills, utilizing both theoretical knowledge and modern technological resources to teach listening, speaking, reading, and writing in French.
- Fostering students’ creativity, critical analysis, and ability to engage in constructive criticism.
- Developing students’ critical thinking skills and research capabilities within their major.
- Attaining a prominent position in local and regional department rankings.
