Program Aims
- Equipping students with all what they need to learn and teach German language, linguistics, literature, translation, and culture. Achieving excellence both qualitatively and quantitatively in learning and teaching German.
- Providing distinguished services to the community in communication, translation, and German language learning.
- Helping students develop and stimulate communication skills and creative thinking to address challenges effectively.
Program Mission
To produce well-qualified graduates in the German language who are adept at utilizing modern communication methods and executing assigned tasks that address diverse community needs across various language domains, including translation.
Graduate Attributes:
A graduate holding a Bachelor’s Degree in German Language and Literature from the Faculty of Languages should demonstrate the following attributes:
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking German.
- Able to differentiate between fundamental concepts in language, literature, and translation studies.
- Able to use all four German language skills across diverse professional contexts.
- Capable of analyzing and critiquing texts in a systematic and professional manner.
- Able to communicate skillfully in both written and verbal forms.
- Able to translate various types of texts (political, scientific, economic, etc.) accurately, faithfully, and conscientiously.
- Proficient in producing innovative and scholarly research papers, adhering to the principles of academic honesty and research integrity.
- Capable to apply and employ specialized knowledge in professional practice within relevant fields.
- Proficient in using computers and technological applications to remain abreast of modern scientific and technical developments in language-related fields and applications.
- Able to engage positively with diverse cultures while upholding religious, cultural, and social values.
- Ready to assume ethical, academic, and professional responsibilities within their area of specialization.
