The Department of Psychology is dedicated to providing a distinguished academic and cognitive educational experience through its diverse programs. It strives to develop highly qualified and skilled psychological professionals and researchers who meet the demands of the local, regional, and global labor markets. Our program equips graduates to serve both individuals and society at large.

The Department of Psychology aspires to be a recognized leading center for excellence in psychology education at the local and regional levels. It seeks to prepare exceptional psychological specialists and researchers who are well-qualified for the labor market and possess a strong foundation in international best practices for psychological consultation and research. Our department is unwavering in its commitment to fostering excellence in scholarly pursuits, meaningful community service, and upholding the highest academic standards.
Department Aims:
- Equipping students with a comprehensive understanding of core psychological concepts, theoretical frameworks, empirical research findings, as well as the historical development of the field.
- Developing student’s skills in conducting scientific research using methodologies such as research design, data analysis, and interpretation.
- Fostering the students’ abilities to analyze psychological concepts and their application in personal, social, and applied settings.
- Integrating essential psychology skills with theoretical knowledge and principles, enabling graduates to stay up-to-date with contemporary advancements and effectively contributing to the well-being of individuals and society in the 21st
- Developing strong interpersonal and self-management skills, enabling effective interactions with others and fostering personal growth.
- Preparing graduates to apply their psychological knowledge, skills, and values in diverse professional fields, particularly in light of the dynamic societal changes within Yemen.
- Encouraging conducting research and studies that align with ongoing scientific and social developments in the field of psychology.
- Developing strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling graduates to collaborate effectively with individuals and organizations while utilizing their psychological knowledge and expertise.
